NICOTINE STAINS – Get Ready for the Addiction!

“Smoking may be hazardous to your health, but Charlie is deadly!”

“Charlie is introduced to a new, synthetic cigarette. When he tries to quit it won’t let him. Soon they all will pay so Charlie and the butts can live happily ever after… or will they?”

“Inspired by VHS classics of the 1980’s such as Maniac, Basket Case, The Last Horror Film, Combat Shock and How to Get ahead in Advertising, Nicotine Stains is an original independent vision of death by smoking.”

Those are just a few of the captivating quotes about Gennaro Desposito‘s latest feature length horror/psychological/slasher film, Nicotine Stains! If the quotes and the words “horror”, “psychological”, and “slasher” aren’t enough to smoke your cigarette already, there’s also the collar-grabbing trailer below! All this has me addicted already, with or without the nicotine!

Charlie (Matt Fowler) fighting temptation in Nicotine Stains

Yes, the trailer starts off with something seemingly less harmful and surely less expensive than your average cigarette–“free samples” that “don’t even have any nicotine in them.” “Yeah, right!” we’re all happily thinking already! Beneath that paper wrapper and in that tobacco, somewhere, lies something to make the typical death by cigarettes small change. “Ominous” and “too-good-to-be-true” are just a few things that come to mind here, faster than Charlie (Matt Fowler) can find a lighter. Oh, and if these cigarettes don’t have nicotine, I’ll take my chances with those that do. Yes, you read that right! The wolf in sheep’s clothing is growling loudly here, giving us thatย  feeling we love to get, just before a good, you guessed it–horror/psychological/slasher! Nicotine Stains, indeed, has all the cigarette-burn signs that make it one to seek out and see–even at the cost of being addicted! ๐Ÿ˜€

As with most addictions, one thing leads to another!

“What’s it all about?” you ask. All I’ve seen so far is the trailer–that intriguing, one-minute-and-fifty-four second clip of what’s surely to be more than your average spree of murder, madness, and mayhem after a smoke! Yes, after Charlie gets his first puff, there will be addiction, blood, and death indeed! Relationships will crumble like ashes; people, friends and family will be less than matchsticks in Charlie’s way; and cigarettes may even begin to talk! Oh no, I’m not sure about that ultimate end of delusion and decay–that point where your addiction becomes your master and tells you what to do. No, of course, not! I’m talking about the point where your addiction talks…and you begin to listen!

Getting in the way of Charlie’s addiction is not a good idea!

Another reason I have great expectations for Nicotine Stains is because of two actors in the film–Matt Fowler and Lacy Hornick! Fowler and Hornick also star in the premiere episode of Zombie Whisperer, featured and reviewed here on Space Jockey Reviews. With Fowler and Hornick, I have no doubt that Nicotine Stains will, rather than “stain”, leave an indelible impression in the minds of those who see the film. They are a pair who deliver the goods every time I’ve seen them! From the trailer, the power of Fowler’s performance speaks for itself already!

From the teaser trailer below, I’d say that nicotine might be the least of your worries, when smoking. Watch the trailer below, but don’t inhale the smoke. As for not getting addicted, forget it! ๐Ÿ˜€
